Thank you for your kind words.
And your suggestion is good! I had not thought about it. Sounds good. I'll consider it. And, if possible, will use it.

Actually, I count the cuts of a piece before starting. That helps me to get a deep knowledge of each piece and plan the best way to cut it, specially in the very intricate parts.
I just write the number down and just add the figures at the end of the day.

The elevator/stairs core has more than 2 thousand cuts and required about
8 hours to complete, of which 7:45 were spent cutting.

It is a great way to test your sanity.

You can easily avoid all the cuts by just making an enclosed core.
After all, most of the detail will never be seen at all.
But, why would you go the easy way and do that?

Detail is so accurate, all the elements of the downwards stairs
show signs of wearing paint in the final step.

0.5 mm cuts... hundreds of them.

I'm sure it would go rather unnoticed once enclosed by the bigger structure...
But I'm also sure it would be very noticeable if you don't add the detail in the end.

So far with the central elevator/stairs core and another plataform I added to the tower
the cuts count is currently 10.075.

Thanks for reading.
See you later (hopefully not in another 20 months, but sooner).

Regards.

Well, that's one of several reasons I had stalled. Lack of proper space to store it.
I still don't have enough space, but decided to resume anyway before I grow too old to finish it.

Instead of doing more insane tiny cutting I Decided to take a small detour and populate the base with details. Not many, just a handful.

Because I altered the geometry of the street in front of the tower, the provided piece for the bush separator no longer fits.

I made a new one from scratch:

The greenery was made by printing foliage textures and crumpling the paper before gluing it to the base.

It fits nicely.

Since the new texture of the separator was different to the rest, I also printed new sand textures for the shoes of the tower.
More new crumpled greenery replaced the original painted green blobs.

Several service vehicles, trucks and buses were added.

I didn't even cared to scaled them correctly. Just eyed them. Hopefully they are tiny enough as to blend properly.

The cars and SUV are between 10-12 mm and the buses are 22-28 mm.

There are Mitsubishi buses and trucks, a Toyota SUV (in 4 different colors), and several old buses.
The only foreign car is a Ford Pinto (in 3 colors).

All vehicles were sourced from different Japanese websites using mainly links from Papermau.

Instead of using the decorations provided by UHU I used a couple different banners.

One is the poster of Mothra vs Godzilla (1964). Because of course they needed to be part of this in some way.

The other one is from a 2007 anime called "Tokyo Marble Chocolate", which has a pivotal scene taking place on the Tower.

Since this was all additional accessories I didn't count the cuts. I'm only counting the cuts of the original kit.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading and for your comments!
