Wqalls and Tower
The cut out of the windows takes me most of the time. I am only glad that this building complex has most of the windows....
I finished the tower, separatedly and fit it to the rest of the complex after adding all walls. So far everything fits nicely. I still have to increase my skill of cutting the sidestraps of the walls away as i sometimes tear away parts of the printed cardboard. You can see that at the roof of the chapel. The corners of the walls have received a nice wall like structure because of glueing them together without flaps. What do you think?

Hi Thomas,
The windows seem to be the least sucessfully designed parts. More reality-like surfaces would fit better. This is the most problematic issue for me in case of any paper building. Apart from that is seems to be a "must have" for any admirer of architecture (if there is enough space at home ). It is a really huge complex. I wish you sucessul building. |

Details, rocks and Finishing
First I start with an overview of the build so far. Then I add the rocks to the South and the hillside to the North. Thanks to the thick cardboard they fit quite well.
Then I add the details: the outer staircase, the roofs to the North, and the oriel with the large window. The small toilet gazebo is hardly visible, the round wall below the window transverse is added by a small buttress. Last but not least I finish part A with a nice gallery to the North. |

Great build so far. I have been visiting this summer for the first time and it is an impressive castle.
Looking forward for more :-) Chris

Part B
Thank you kriszeme and papierschnitzel! I'll try my best!
For part B, I follow the same procedure, only that less windows need to be cut out. I start with the terrasses which gain an enormous stabiltiy with the cardboard. I glue the walls on thicker cardboard, remove straps of the thickness of the cardboard where corners will be constructed and cut out the windows. Then I glue copies of the oiled windows behind. For part B I start with the small building with the gables. After the walls are mounted I stick on the roof but leave the open parts closed for stability reasons. Then I add the gables of which I also roughly cut the backs, remount them on the fronts and remove the details. Then I add the triangular building. |

Buildings
Next, I construct the staircase tower and add wall after wall, not to forget the base and the top. Because the walls are quite stiff I have to add an extra flap to close the tower. Then I add the connected buildings to part A.

Ramps, terrasses and extras
Finally I assemble the ramp of which I also had strengthened the court parts. For the railing I add an extra flap for stabilisation. Only after finishing the complete ramp I mount it at the buildings.
Last I attach the terrasses, the oriel and the stairs, for which I glue straps of cardboard together, this makes the stairs look more 3D. In the next days I'll start with part C and D and add the soil to the finished part. |

Finishinng Part A and B; Starting Part C
During the winter holidays I've been busy with the castle.
First I finished Part A and B with closing the front and back part with the soil parts. Then I started with Part C, the first castle. As usual I added an extra layer of caardboard, cut out the windows aand reglued oiled windows to the backs. Then I closed the walls as described above and added a ceiling and bottom strap for stability purpose. |

Part C- The First Castle
The walls and side entrance come together well, the other building of the first castl is merely a box and is glued fast. Then I cann combine the buildings with the courtyard in wihich I deepened the fountain a bit.
The buildings are connected with help of a closed staircase. nevertheless, I added extra stairs to give it a better look. |

Finishing Part C
The buildings get some extras- a roof for the cannons, two balconies and an oriel next to the side entrance.
Then I add the csloped garden and the soil for the connection to the parts A and B. |
