Alan: Don't worry. I have tried smaller scales with Rupert'S models as well.

So I can tell that they are easy to scal down and offer a lot of opportunities for illumination.

I guess the smallest possible scale might be 1:800 or something around as the spires and pinnacles become more and more difficult to bend.

Terrific build! Cool idea on the foil on the inside for light blocking.
Awesome collection!

Sorry Kevin, I should have made it clear that the scale of my model is the 1:600 we were talking about.

Yes, I have followed your previous threads, and found them fascinating. I have particularly enjoyed seeing the effect of your colour scheme for the older models. In England we are so used to seeing churches and cathedrals as bare stonework, forgetting that long ago they were likely to have been much more colourful.

Pillars, Roofs, Towers

For the pillars of the side nave and the railings I glued some copied parts on extra cardboard and reglued them on the model.

Then I glued the roof onto the nave and added the towers with their roofs.

Towers, Roofs and Dormers

I add more roofs and also the dormers next to the big tower which also is covered.
First I had mixed the roofs for the front towers but cut correct the mistake quickly.

Plate

After I added the roofs of the fron side towerd I prepared the plate on OSB board with the printed out plan. Thenn I added gravel according to the layout and placed the cathedral on it after cutting out some space in the middle for the illumination.

Now I could add the remaining pillars and buttresses.

Buttresses, pinnacles, illumination

After I added the remaining buttresses I also added the pinnacles to the choir.

Then I attached the illumination with LEDs from the interior.
