Gloucester Cathedral - Rupert Cordeux - 1: 240

Gloucester Cathedral - Rupert Cordeux - 1: 240
Hello architecture friends

After the Sneeker Wassertor, a sacred building will once again be in the architectural section
My choice much on the cathedral of Gloucester / south west England.

In a well-known and beautiful manner drawn by Rupert Cordeux, about 400 parts are distributed on ten A3 sheets.
Of these, eight are printed on bright ocher-colored construction paper and two on white cardboard.
A drawn Bildbau instructions, as well as model images and a floor plan should be enough to build the cathedral without problems.

Of course, I will put in some refinements again, there are enough possibilities.

To set some pictures of the model bow.

With great anticipation and best regards

Kurt

I've been toying with the idea of buying Rupert's Tewksbury Abbey so I'll be following this build with great interest. My guess is that you're going to enjoy it a lot more than that awful Watergate nonsense.

Hello Philip,
Since this is the third Rupert cathedral I build, there will be no problems here.
Previously, I built Romsey Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral, with everything fitting together very well,
I think so that I can enjoy this building

now we start ...

Part 1, the crossing tower, cut window and glue onto cardboard ... Cut out the window again and glue it behind
Part 2, the ceiling of the tower is reinforced ... and glued step by step

Yours sincerely
Kurt

Finally, the remaining strip of cardboard is glued inside on the adhesive flap ... thus stands the crossing tower
The roof for the crossing tower is slightly roughened with sandpaper and weathered with oil pastels ... assembled and placed

Yours sincerely
Kurt

Hi Kevin ,

yes I enjoy it so much

Part 5 is being prepared ... in addition roof 6. Since the white board is very smooth, I rough the surface with sandpaper and weather it with pastel chalk.
The reinforced roof ... fix
... and build the transept on the crossing tower

Yours sincerely
Kurt

Excellent!

And your tip on how you weather the roof is a great idea - will try this out!

Hi Kevin ,

I am happy if I can motivate you

continue on the cathedral construction site

At the northern aisle, I try a bit more to stick behind (1.5 mm). I cut the windows inwards with a slight angle ...
The northern aisle with roof ...
... now also stick to the crossing tower ... Part 9 prepare as usual

Yours sincerely
Kurt

Don't worry Kurt - you are motivating me to look at a bit of architecture soon. I would love to do one of Ruperts models, but cannot afford one at the present time, as the exchange rates worsen every dayl

But being a paper modeller I have other buildings stashed away I can tackle...

I very much like the way you have done the windows, especially on the tower. On a sunny day, this beautiful tower at Gloucester is all shadows and light play and I have often thought that, good though it is, my drawing alone does not do it justice. I look forward to seeing you finish this mode. Kind Regards. Rupert. C.
