After several other diversions and travel, I have returned to Chambord. I constructed the the rear right corner towers of the main building. Continuing on the right side (facing the front), I added the building that runs down the right perimeter and the low buildings that acts as a wall around the two sides and back of the model.

I hope in the next several days to complete the entire left side which will complete this very intricate and beautiful building.

Dear Thomas!
It is a great pleasure to see you build this famous castle.
In 2011 my wife and I traveled to the castles of the Loire and its tributaries.
May I show some pictures of this magnificent building?

Greeting Adolf Pirling

Dear Adolf, It was great to hear from you again. I always enjoy your comments. Thank you for the beautiful photos. We had planned a Viking River Cruise in France which included an additional excursion to the Loire Valley to see the Chateaux for this October but we recently had to move it to next May because my wife is having a knee replacement in several weeks. I have the kits for 4 Loire Chateaux. I hope I can make all of the before May and visit them.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I would love to see more. Thomas

Dear Thomas!
I hope you will see many beautiful castles and palaces
on your journey in 2020.
It is verry good that L'Instand Durable
has published several of them as cardboard models.

Greeting Adolf

Adolf, Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos. I was able to identify every photo on my model, except of course the interior photos of the famous stairways.

As I have stated on numerous posts, I like to build the model and then visit the actual building. After spending time making the many unique parts on the model, it is easy to pick them out when visiting the real building. Sometimes there are several very unique parts associated with the model that can be seen on the building itself which might other wise be overlooked.

As usual, the Instant Durable models are wonderful and never miss a detail. I have almost all of their models which are always a joy to make. I have made all of the cathedrals.

Always good to hear from you. Thomas

I finally finished this very intricate model of Chambord Château in France. I took a number of photographs, but none of them really show the intricate detail of all of the chimneys and dormers on the 4 corners of the main building even though the models is very large. It measures 23X17. Only by viewing it in person, can you really appreciate the intricacy of this magnificent building. Even though the 4 towers on each corner appear to be identical, there are slight differences. We are looking forward to visiting it next May.

I really appreciate all of the encouragement and kind words from all of you who wrote on this site (and other posts). It is one of the great advantages of PaperModelers.com that there are others all over the world who share this wonderful hobby and encourage each other in our projects. Such support aids at times when we feel discouraged about a particular model. Thanks to all my paper model friends.

I’m going to take a short break for the next couple weeks from making more models to make a couple of woodworking projects. Woodworking has always been my favorite hobby, since a young child, but in recent years building paper models has almost come first. I love both hobbies and find it difficult to divide my time.
