Houtzaagmolen

This is a simple and quick model but it has an old-school charm being hand drawn and coloured.

AH, Leon Schuijt, I probably built this back in the Netherlands, they are great kits, and you did an excellent job on it

This is indeed a Dutch series, dating back to the 60'ties or earlier. See my site zeistbouwplaten.nl,
Arch Trad. Schuijt had a whole series of Dutch traditional windmills - still to be seen all over the country.

Very nicely done, sir. I built this model many years ago, and seeing these pictures bring back enjoyable memories. Which one of these old LS kits do you intend to tackle next?

I haven’t decided yet. Might switch it up for a ship.

Nice looking windmill! In the later years LS published a very interesting wood saw mill (which is the English translation of "Houtzaagmolen") of the so-called paltrok type. The actual mill can be visited at the Zaansche Schans open air museum. It's an attractive model displaying how the sawing mechanism works when the blades are moved. The mill is called "De Gekroonde Poelenburg".

Cheers,
Erik
