San Juan Bautista de Banos de Cerrato
In spite of taking a fairly long break from any builds, I was inspired by sander1942’s recent post about a Secanda model he constructed. I wanted a quick build, and when I took a look on the Secanda site, I was pleased to discover the model of San Juan Bautista de Baños de Cerrato; especially because it has a removable roof and detailed interior.
The Secanda site says that the church dates to the 7th century, however it seems this date is incorrect. The inscription stone above the sanctuary arch bears a 7th century date, and there was a 7th century church on the site at one point, but the current structure dates to the 9th or 10th century. |

Cuthbert,
Your work is nicely done...glad that website was of use to you. I'm planning on completing another of theirs in the near future. They are definitely well designed. Now that you are back into paper models, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Many thanks for your kind words! I'm in the middle of working on a Rupert Cordeux model of Beverley Minster and will post some pictures of it as I am able.
