Thank you! Now let's get into this. For reference I will be using the Wikipedia page on the Grote Markt (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Place) and Google Maps - please let me know if any info there is incorrect. And there will be a possibly random mix of Dutch, French and English terms.
I really love the graphics of this kit, very beautifully drawn. With my limited technical means here I'm not going for any fancy extras such as cutting out the windows, although I can imagine it would add another dimension here. I'm starting at the corner of the Grote Markt and the Boterstraat (Butter Street). The corner building is Le Roy d'Espagne (The King of Spain), House of the Corporation of Bakers. From there I will make the southwest side of the Boterstraat.

some extra information: many years ago I met the designer/publisher and his wife - he did the line drawings, she was a very good water colourist and did the colouring. Much more athmosphere than todays photographic 'colouring', as in the morerecent Schreiber models.

I didn't know it was a couple who designed it - they certainly did a fantastic job.
Here is the rest of the southwest side of the Boterstraat:

Beautiful Marco, I really love those tiny buildings slowly building up an entire city quarter. Don't know if you have ever been there but there's a very special atmosphere at the place (probably it was just before Christmas when we visited), and I remember it's quite well hidden.

Thanks! It's been a few years since I visited, but I remember the grand atmosphere. Time for another visit when some normality returns.
I think the original model was only published for a short time in limited numbers. I had given up hope to find an original, but was happy to find this reproduction.

And now that very beautiful façade of guild houses between the west side of the Boterstraat and the Guldenhoofdstraat.

And with the corner of the Guldenhoofdstraat and Steenstraat, this part of the model is finished.

Next I'll make the city block between the Boterstraat, Grasmarkt Straat, Vlees-en-Broodstraat and Korte Boterstraat.
Starting at the corner of the Boterstraat and Vlees-en-Broodstraat, I'll first make the façade of the Boterstraat.

The rest of the Boterstraat. I'm catching up a bit with recent progress here. I have actually left Ghana at this moment, taking this model with me, so sooner or later you will see a change of scenery in the background.
