St. Jovan Kaneo by Pepachal

I was really enjoying work on Venetian Republic designs in conjunction with a game that came out about a year ago. Only the person who was most influential on my creations passed away suddenly last month at the age of 45, https://cardboard-warriors.proboards...0368/lost-shep

I find myself unable to concentrate on finishing up my Rialto Bridge, nor the San Giacomo di Rialto church, or any of the various projects I started, so I started looking at old downloads and saw this one, and I thought it could be an extremely old church down one of the back alleys.

So, I blew it up 50%, but unfortunately did not adjust color enough.

Not knowing the actual building or what your desires for color were, the built enlarged one looks okay on-screen to me.

Actually, it photographs well, but is a bit washed out in real life

It a lovely model that.

I have made it. If I recall rightly it is a Mediterranean style church.

Yes, Macedonian. A Byzantine style church. Venice and Constantinople had close ties, and many of the oldest churches in Venice have elements similar to these. San Giacomo di Rialto was very similar, except for having porches built around the west, south and east sides, only it has a building abutting the north side. After around 1100, most of the churches were being torn down and rebuilt in a Latin style

The three figures were from vintage cards showing various clergy. I just picked out three that had tricorn hats and whose cloaks looked appropriate to Venice

It was actually a very enjoyable build. It was a difficult model to get way back when. On his website, the link to the model went to the instructions and the link to the instructions went to the instructions. I was trying various methods to do an end-around to get it, when I finally found the file. Not long afterwards it became one of his 'for purchase' models, so it was a good thing I found it when I did.

If you are one of the lucky ones to have this model, I would recommend using your favorite graphics program to lose some of the dashed and dotted lines, otherwise it is a pretty good model of an unusual subject

Smart-looking model. Quite a distinctive subject, too.

Success! After a few emails (some coming in Japanese), I was able to purchase the kit (a deal at $5.28 CND) at: pepachal.net
Thanks VK for showing us this model.

Regards,
John

Since it appears the Yahoo Store he used to use is no longer there, does he have a new store?
