I feel that I am watching History come alive. How did you and with what did you color the Original? Thank you for Doing the build and Documenting it for us, Miles

Hello Miles,
thanks for asking ... everything was drawn with Indian ink on acetate foil, the colors are laid out with PANTONE color foils on transparent film ... ... a welcome alternative of using airbrush equipment ... The »rest« was conventional color separation for the pre-print process. In 1983 only very minor electronic image processing tools were availbale, so we did it the "old" way ... it was "YEAR 7" before Photoshop appeared ... :-) |

Good Night, Mrs. Pleiner. My name is Gregory and I always enjoyed your models, and while scattering the web for free models I got to know more about this work of yours:NPP PWR 1300 MW I also discovered that once, you shared your "NPP PWR 1300 MW" model freely available for download on your old site download section "Papermodels.de" with the help of Wayback Machine. Nowadays I see that you don't offer the model anymore on your current site "kartonmodelle.org". Having said that, I'm very tempted to build your "NPP PWR 1300 MW"... With your permission, would be OK for me to download the model pages/instructions from Wayback Machine and build it(along side with an proper build thread)? I always like to ask that to the model author when I find an old free model through Wayback Machine that isn't currently available to make sure that I'm not going against the author's will on the model itself. Thanks already for your incredible work on this and other models; there's no need to rush on the answer. Keep Building, Gregory. |

As far as I know, while Thomas designed the model, the model was issued only in three printing batches and that was it.
I guess that this model never was itended to be sold(Thomas can correct me if I'm wrong). The only version of the model that was sold was an OLKILUOTO 3 nuclear power plant model, on a 1:350 scale one with over 3.000 parts. There's also 2 more versions of OLKILUOTO 3, one with 2150 parts, also in 1:350 scale and another one, with only 220 parts, in 1:800 scale (This last one is available for free on Thomas site: Kartonmodelle.org). This one that is showcased by Thomas here on this thread is another one, named NPP PWR 1300 MW, also on a 1:350 scale, but the part count is 1154. I quoted him because after getting to know the model, I discovered that he once made the model freely available on his old member download area from his old site, and I managed to find all pages/instructions via Wayback Machine and I asked to him if I could build it. Since he originally the model for free, I don't think that it would be an issue... |

If you're still interested in the model, here's the Wayback machine link to Thomas old site download member area where I discovered that the model was once offered for free:
Model Downloads (All the pages/baseplate/instructions links works 100%.) I'm waiting for Thomas response about downloading and building the model.. Keep building, Gregory. |
