Segovia Aqueduct, Spain - Merino - 1: 125

Hello

As a second model next to Queen Luise, I will tackle the Segovia aqueduct.

With this project we go back about 2000 years. The under Emperor Trajan 100 AD. The completed aqueduct was part of a 17-kilometer aqueduct for the city of Segovia in central Spain. The aqueduct was in operation until 1974.

There are 206 parts in simple texture on 14 sheets. The building instructions in Spanish, English and French are supplemented by five building sketches.

Here is a first overview

Kind regards
Kurt

Salvete tui exemplar artifex

a nice welcome to all visitors

let's begin so that the waters will soon run ...

A building that should last for at least 2000 years needs a strong foundation, so I first put the two base areas on 1.4 mm gray cardboard ... because of the better handling, I connect the two parts later ...
... with the first of many cuboids that will follow it starts now ... on (almost) every cuboid there is a platform

Sincerely
Kurt

The pedestal is folded inwards ... and placed on the cuboid ...

... the whole thing now on the base plate ... the first five cuboids receive a platform

Sincerely
Kurt

Nice start. As a teacher of mine said: «Well begun is half done».

I tried to search for the model, but is quite difficult to buy in Italy. Furthermore, it's quite big, it spans about 70 cm in length... from which the big question: where can I put it once finished?

Keep up!

Hi asettico ,
yes it is very long , but only 15 cm small

Attention ! From the sixth cuboid, there is no platform on it, because the floor will be placed here later ...

however, I don't like the solution with the tabs in the bottom. That's why I put my own tabs on the cuboid, on which the floor comes to rest

Attention, make sure that the alignment is correct and keep the line, after the eighth cuboid the first half is built ... on the second base plate there are seven cuboids

Sincerely
Kurt

Parts B1 to B5, attention! Write down all parts because they are different! ... only on part B1 is the base G1

... the remaining cuboids get tabs and are glued to the ground floor pillars ...

Put part C1 on G1, attention, keep the inner flap very narrow

Sincerely
Kurt
