cherry blossom alley

Some of you will remember my "Sam's Study" I enjoyed making it so my daughter bought me a similar kit for Christmas.

Sam's Study

This one uses the same techniques but has different bits. The earlier kit is mainly books whereas this one is mostly food. When I opened the box I found 10 plastic bags with bits - mostly small beads and wood parts for the buildings. There was also an instructions manual of 25 pages.

The most complicated bit was making all the food using the beads. The first few pages showed all the parts which had been numbered. One bag had 65 different shaped beads.

Next came the first page of instructions which covered the lighting. The rest covered making the food and decoration and finished with a padded covering for the two covers.

All this took a lot of concentration but was very enjoyable. My wife has already bought another kit for my Birthday!

Here are a few pictures of the early part of the build. The picture of my work room shows the amount of bags and is the most untidy condition ever !!

Here's a few pictures of the finished model. This sort of kit is called a book end or Book nook. The front and top are clear plastic and the light switch is hidden behind the padded cover.

My wife built a florist shop and a tailor shop. They are fun indeed.

I've wanted to make a book nook for some years now but heven't been able to deside a theme. Maybe I get there someday. This looks marvelous and you built it well. Could we see it lit up in the bookshelf please?

Tappi - just for you ;-)

The first picture is just the LED lighting. The second has "proper" lighting overhead.

I understand your problem - there are so many kits. I looked at robotime.com and they seem to add new kits almost every day.

Cheers
Mike

Wonderful diorama model!

I am partial to Japanese themed models. This one is fascinating on many levels.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
