The automated car park tall building.
One more of the typical buildings for Japanese cities, where there is no area for the traditional horizontal parking nor even multistorey car parks with ramps. The 24 hours automated car park with no ramps, equipped with the vertical transport means of the cars (a lift) is a perfect (however expensive) solution.

I very much enjoyed looking at your little buildings. To achieve this outcome in such a small scale you clearly have great paper modeling talent and experience.

I lived in Japan for three years (1987-90) and visited often between 1962 and 1992. I, too, have a life-long interest in Japanese culture and history.

Your little city is quite a major project, and I am glad you are sharing it with us.

どうもありがとうございました。

Don

As you can see on the very last image in the previous post, finally I was forced to make a toi-toi (a movable toilet). According to the Google Maps Street View image documentation, sometimes this type of the toilets are being placed even in the city centres (especialy during the main festivals, collecting many citizens and visitors). However I found neet and sharp execution of such tiny details nearly impossible, especially the piece with the half-open door and a figure of a user stealing into. The set of five such toilets was far easier to glue together than a single-piece toi-toi.

Thanks all of you for the nice comments, especially Don who is so active a member here and a kind of a Japanese expert himself!
I hope I will be able to satisfy your expectations, however for the moment I must rearrange my plans and finish few other time-consumming projects first, including few manga style comics and my own home thermorenovation. So, we will see.

Now to the industrial suburbs.
I begun with the very simple cuboidal light industry building. I rearranged the doors and windows as usual, added few inscriptions in Japanese ("Building No 1" and so on) and small roofings over the doors but the most interesting part of the work was the flat roof. In case of a downsized buildings for dioramas, which are often to be viewed from above, the rooftop devices are the most important and technically interesting, so simply printing them all on the flat roof is no option - and there is how the original model was printed. So, I added the exit to the roof, the air-conditioning units, the air intake channel and a HVAC exhaust plus some electrical devices.

Love the project, and great admiration for the scale you're working in.
Look forward to seeing your ongoing efforts.

That's a great collection of well made models !

Comparing these with the 1:300 scale cathedrals really reminds me of the size of the real buildings.

Thanks
Mike

Those buildings look very nice, Viator. An exciting project, too!

Thanks a lot for all the support! You are encouraging me to continue the work.

So, now the second phase of my first industrial complex.
A month later the same building received the annex comprising a staff canteen and a big billboard with a company name on the roof edge. The name is real, Audio-technica Corporation (est. 1962 in Shinjuku, Tokyo) plays it's important role as an audio equipment supplier. So my small complex could play a role of a research laboratory for the Company.

There would be no point to mark the office building as "Building No 1" if I wasn't going to make at least one more building, so that's the Building No 2.
Exactly based on the same project, slightly different in details and concrete-colored, with no company logo and with the obsolete HVAC unit replaced with more powerful double exhaust fan.

The layout of the whole complex will be very simple, with a parking lot and maybe a small gatehouse and a storage yard to the right.
