I am making progress. Still a lot of detail work to do--stairs, loading dock, canopy, cupola, and then the scenery base. Still all paper except the elevator framework. Shingle roofs are from Clever Models, the tarpaper roofs are from Clever Models, Paper Creek, and Texture Library (texturelib.com).

Everyone have a Merry and Healthy Christmas (or Kwanzaa or whatever).
Let us hope the New Year brings better times.

Looks real good. I like the way those old building look when they start sprawling that way. It is like you can see the history of the building as more and more is added through the years.

Merry Christmas to you also.

Your mill is going up fast.
Looks great.
No doubt, the landscaping will require a lot of work.

Progress on the Armstrong Woolen Mill

The cupolas are built with windows from Tichy Train Group. The stairs are scratchbuilt wood with railings from Central Valley. the main loading platform is wood, the "metal grid" platforms are stripwood and brass screen. Everything else is paper -- Clever Models texture papers laminated to 0.5mm card (cereal boxes) and braced with balsa and basswood.

A few details to add and them i will start work on the base and scenery. I'm planning a small dam and mill stream in front of the building.

I got talked into teaching at the college this semester, so my modeling time has been limited. In May, I will join the graduates in leaving the college. There is too much other mischief I want to commit.

Great bricolage blending materials from a variety of resources plus your own scratch building.
