Norman Tower, Bury St Edmunds

Following my making of the WTC kit decided to do a brand new model from scratch this time closer to home, this will be for the 12th Century Norman Tower at Bury St Edmunds which serves as the bell chamber for the Cathedral. I ring here on a regular basis, have already drawn it, so thought would me a detailed model to keep in the tower.

Great idea and I look forward to seeing your progress.

That model really lends itself to a photo texture approach using the pictures of the real thing, layering etc.. I can help you with perspective correction if you want to try that.

If you do fancy that approach PM me and I can explain how to go about it. I think for this type of model it will give a good result.

Started out with rough pencil outlines now adding the details such as brickwork. The window designs and louvres I'm adding separately but cutting out the window shapes to give some scope to the model.

Excellent. Really good progress!

To draw like that is a skill I just don't have...
