Dunbar Library, circa 1925

In 2002, I designed this model of the Dunbar Library located in San Angelo, Texas. Around the year 1925, local citizens wanted a public library in what was then the northern part of the town. They built the Dunbar Library, tiny by today's standards. The structure still stands, maintained in its original condition by a local Lions Club. The interior of the library remains as it originally was, the shelves and tables and chairs in very good condition.

I hope Rick S sees this post and helps to get a PDF in the download section it is a most interesting historic structure and deserves to be built.
1. what i the scale
2. what are the halfmoon structures for? I don't see where they fit on the model.

Thanks, Philip and Miles for the kind words. The half-moon parts are lamimated to build up the steps in front of the door. The door and arched door frame are built up of laminated pieces as well. I suppose one could do this differently.

If I recall correctly, the scale is 1:87, which is a model HO railroad scale.

San Angelo is not a bad place to live. Off the beaten path for sure.

Are you still able to walk across the lake?

It has a bit of water now. But, yeah, for a good while it was nearly dry. That's O.C. Fisher Reservoir. But we have two other lakes.
