I have new photos. I tried to focus on the details of the building. The colors of the photos are not the best because I shot them during the night using the lights of my house (0:30am Greece time) but I think that they are not so bad.

Last September we have been to Barcelona and in a bookshop near the Sagrada Familia I saw a white paper maquette and asked if they had the model for sale. The answer was no, so I googled and found the Canon model, so I also started with it. How long did it take for you to finish? I have spent roughly 20 hours on it now and have finished the virgin Mary tower and the back part. In the past I made motorcycle models and some paper models of birds (falkon) but this Sagrada Model is the most difficult model to make with its critical dimensions. E.g. the center and highest tower consists of 12 strips to be glued together so that below and at the top the diameter is precise so that the peak fits.
What size and thickness of paper did you use. I use 160 g paper and A3 size. Like to hear from you about your effort and used materials and tools. Regards, Fred |

Welcome, Fred, to Paper Modelers. I am a big Sagrada Familia admirer. I built my Domus model of it in 2008 and saw it in person in 2009. I took closeup photos of my model with me to compare to the "real thing". We were in Barcelona twice on that trip and went to Sagrada Familia both times. I hope I live long enough to see it completed. They say another 20 years - that will make me 93
![]() To see my model go to my webpage - www.cathedralquest.com and click on church models...it is on the second page. Also I have written about our experience along with more photos under Spain 2009 Barcelona. I would love to see photos of your model. I have not seen a finished Canon model. Good luck and welcome. What size did you print it: A4, A3 or other size? What paper thinkness did you use? How did you color the white cutting edges? Can you estimate how many hours it take you? Regards, Fred |
