Good news for Rupert Chicken fans: I have been in contact with him, and I can now do reproductions 'on demand' - see my website www.zeistbouwplaten.nl, page >Architecture, >Traditional. A fair percentage goes to the designer. I have just been experimenting with cleaning scans and printing on the original sandy-brown paper - good results. Scans are essential: Rupert tells me he has not kept any of the original artwork. Strange, but true.
The simple colouring may not seeem very attractive, but the result is stunning. I have put some pictures on my New Photo Collection, Flickr: Den Bakker's Photostream Just one here, built by Kurt Berglez. It is Canterbury Cathedral. |

Greetings, Diderick!
This is very good news, indeed. I have an old copy of the Salisbury Cathederal, which I obtained from a modeler overseas, as a gift to my neighbor, who is an architect by trade. I had not heard of this model designer but my neighbor had bought the model many years ago but lost it in a move and indicated he would love to find another, to which I obliged. While not as crisp and clean as computer assisted designs of today they are very interesting and charming, being hand drawn, not to mention quite complex. I would be very much interested in getting the Canterbury Cathederal when it becomes available. Kindly let me know how one might order one, when you have a moment. Cheers! Jim |

Just received my Canterbury Cathedral from Zeist Bouwplaten. Looks like it's going to be quite a build. Only took 7 days to get to Tennessee. Will post once I start it. First the Johan van Oldenbarnevelt. Sailed on her to Melbourne from the Netherlands back in 1952.

Might I suggest you make the model before you criticize it? and then look at some pictures of the real cathedral which in fact is called, Southwell Minster ( pronounced, Suthall. And how do I know all this? I am the legitimate designer and producer of the Rupert Chicken/Cordeux models.

Rupert,
I think you will find most members of the forum are very supportive of copyright laws. Perhaps a post under "The Welcome Desk" with a bit about your models and your plans for making the models available would clear up any confusion. russ...
