Unbelievable...you need to put an orange tip on the barrel like they do toy guns so folks will know it's not real.

Great work,
Bill

Yeah - he asked about that offline - it will be an optional part :D

The renders looked good, and from what you have shown of the build, the paper version is looking really good too.

Orange tip...c'mon guys, don't you just love to see somebody using a paper gun in the newspaper ;D

*this message was not so ever meaning to offence people, guns are bad, cause they kill.* 8)

Besides, I don't think criminals have the patience to put it together ;D

and now the bad news.... somehow i deleted the pictures i took of the first half of the build!! so now i have to figure something else out for the instructions! :'(

NO WAY! That stinks....

I cant believe thats paper man.... just spectacular!

Is that clip actually hollow? If it has a colored interior you could even make bullets :)

How many parts does your model have ?

The Orange

Well, the question would be, who would be able to pay for this? :o

I had a look around a few on line card model stores in the UK and estimate the following. (Excl P&P for printed models).

PDF Download: £0.99 to £5.00

Small Model: £5.00 to 15.00 (Simple planes/cars/tanks)

Med Size Model: £10.00 to £20.00 (Large scale planes/tanks/small boats)

Large Size Model £15.00 to £30.00 (Complex models/large ships)

These are UK prices and I'm sure you can get the same models cheaper from Europe thanks to the exchange rate at the moment.

As a download I would put your gun in the higher end at £4.50, but if you include a front cover, some nice instructions and gun history it would easily bump into the small model bracket at around £9.99 for PDF. If you add an option of an alternate handle grip, a few bullets and a loaded mag option no reason for this gun to sell for £14.99 PDF. If it was printed at this level I would move to the med bracket for £19.99.

The above in no way reflects the time and effort you have put into this project, only you can put a price on that.

1:1 guns seem in demand, request pop up on a regular basis back at zealots for links to 1:1 guns. A model of this quality available at ecardmodels will have them lined up in the virtual street to get a copy.

I now have you model ready to print.

What paper would you suggest? 110 gsm looks about right.

My build skills are not that good but I'll take some shots as go.

Having trouble converting 67lbs into gsm. All the converters ask for the Basis Weight and the Basic Size: (Parent sheet size in square inches). You wouldn't know that would you nothing?

Cheers JTF

I think most people that use 65 lb also like 110 gsm :)
Chris

JT Fox
09-19-2008, 01:54 PM
Thank God for that. The converter I look at suggested 252gsm.

I thought it was Colt 1911 not a fecking M60. :D

Use 252, buy a real spring and I bet it will really shoot ;)

by the way we gonna get any ammo designed for these? If not, maybe after i get the store running I will try my hand at a simple thing such as that!

doctormax- i use 67 lbs almost exclusively. i dont know but maybe higher lbs would be hard with the pistols. you can shoot chris the photos but i dont think he has the picture mod up yet at the shop.
