From Lightwave Wiki:

Subpatch Modeling (often referred to - technically speaking - as subdivision surfaces) is a process where you create a base shape from a polygon mesh (Base Mesh) then switch to a mode that subdivides these polygons into a rounded smooth organic shape (Subpatch).

AFAIK that function is not available in meta :(

Lightwave has it tho... Only thing is, I haven't modelled for a few years, trying to get to my ols level again...

First, turn off Basic functions...

Then, under 'Object', use the option 'Mesh Smoothing' <- Metaseq's take on Subpatching!

hi guys! I hope, i can help!

@Nothing
Now i know what you want!

@paperronin
I thought the same, but this is not subpatching!

open the object panel ("Obj panel"), then select there an object an click the "Prop" button! there is a section "Patch" with 4 options - "flat", "Spline Type1", "Spline Type 2" and "Catmull-Clark"! That is it! but i think Mesh smoothing is better!
