Looks good Trent! I found the wikipedia article on the Borei-class to be interesting, especially the part about its missile development problems. How do you keep up with all the latest military developments - you have a Jane's subscription? :D

The 3D model looks great! Any luck with the unfolding and model creation? I think a model I'd like to tackle soon would be a submarine, preferably a modern one. Thanks!

Thanks Nothing. No sweat, I just personally find the Borei to be interesting. As Russia's first new submarine since the USSR's days, and a replacement for the old Typhoons, its political and deterrent ramifications are immense.
I also see from your current projects list that you are working on the USS Ohio? May I presume this is the now-SSGN submarine? I'm not familiar with any other ships named Ohio, and have also had a particular fascination with that class of submarine. Possibly because it is the namesake of my home state... Thanks, and good luck with all of your ongoing projects!

Modeler0421 (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/members/modeler0421.html)- the ohio will be the SSBN
strk (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/members/strk.html)- your tail section is more detailed then mine. rear of the sail looks a bit thin though. were you able to obtain some decent 3 views?

For what it is worth both models are exceptional. I'm curious: I'm making some first forays into model design, and am curious what software you use for 3D rendering? Are you using pepakura for the unfold?

i do. i model in meta and unfold in pepakura, then edit in paintshop pro.

i might add that these are not the best programs to use, but i cant afford anything else and i know how to make them work for me.

I think you have proved that it is the designer, and not the programs. your work is awesome.
