It's Cotlet's fault ;)
After seeing his excellent BF 109G and having just completed one track for my Chi-He I decided I needed a Bf 109 too.
I contemplated buying the Kartonowa Kolekcja model, but then I remembered the ModelArt kit I purchased ages ago. Problem was there were two versions there, Bf 109F and Bf 109G and I couldn't decide which one to build - so I started building both at the same time :)
Bf 109F-2 flown by Werner Molders got completed first (I really liked the yellow ID accents) so here it is.
Model has beautifull artwork and is fairly simple to build, but the narrow fuselage and lack of central "core" requires great care during assembly. Canopy is a pain, but that's something typical for the Messerschmitts...

Changes to the original model:
- removed centerlines on all the parts (thank you Inkscape)
- removed some framing in the canopy
- fuselage guns are Master Model MG-17s
- wheels are TrueDetail weighted resin wheels for Bf 109B-G2 models
- all figures (couldn't resist ;)) 21st Century Toys

A great model Michael. The prop spinner came out exceptionally well.
The whole model is first rate....Ron

Looks great! It's always more fun to build at least a couple versions at once :)

You're welcome http://emotikona.pl/emotikony/pic/0tongue.gif (http://emotikona.pl/emotikony/)

Beautiful Mike! Clean and crisp build!
The spinner came out, I dare to say, better than mine! Honestly! If I see it correctly, it's made out of 4 rings (G5 by Kartonowa Kolekcja has only 3) and that makes it definitely more difficult. I know what I'm saying, I just finished 4 segments of the Buffalo spinner and it wasn't easy and it doesn't look so good as yours. Can you share details how you made it (what glue, how you shaped it, etc.)?

I see the pilots are GreMir's trademark:) I'm sure extra details like this are appreciated not only by me.

Did I understand it correctly, there is no formers? If so, I'm even more impressed...

The only (!) concern is the propeller blades, or rather their angle. Maybe it's just pictures.

ps. When can we expect the G variant?

Thank you.

Tomek,
Spinner is built out of four rings. Nothing special about shaping of the parts - first I curved them over the metal rod and then I used metal ball to add a little 3D effect to them. Worked fairly well and it would look even better if I didn't refuse to paint it
By "core" I meant something like that http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/aviation/8933-halinski-messerchmitt-bf-109f-4-trop-1-33-a-6.html. Having this type of framing to work with makes the build much easier...
You're right about the blades' angle. I didn't notice it earlier and in fact it needed adjustment. It's fixed now.
Bf 109G will be completed after the second track of the Chi-He - I recovered enough to continue the build :)

Hi Mike,

Another excellent aircraft build from your hangar!

Only one problem that I see, no floats or float locations on underside of wings.....

wittman40 - any chance you could post some photos? I envy people who can work in those smaller scales...
