This is a "found on the internet" but too specialised to put there:

If you are scratch-building something and need photo-realistic textures for walls, floors etc, look at Mayang's Free Texture Library (http://mayang.com/textures/) - You are limited to about 20 free downloads per day, but there are plenty to choose from. Very useful if, like me, you are resizing and re-colouring building models. I open up the picture in Photoshop and select a part of it (carefully selecting a bit that will tessalate well) then I select "edit... define pattern", then fill the appropriate area with that pattern. Obviously, some of the pictures have to be resized to get the right scale first.

This lady's textures are "seamless" - you can copy her image then select it all and "define pattern" in Photoshop for a seamless fill.

I have been a fan of Dave Gurrea's work from Blade of Darkness. All textures are tile-able. Great if you want to work with Fantasy/Historical Structures.
