I finally got around to finishing the design of this model after it had eluded me for such a long time, I hope someone finds it nifty.

That looks real good. It could be used on a Star Gate model. Is the model file available somewhere? :)

No the model file isn't available as I designed it myself.

The Stargate iris looks the same if you view it from the back, but it does have a slight difference. It uses leaf blades that terminate at points, resembling a curved claw. The blades meet one another at the center and travel slightly past it when fully closed. The ones in this particular model are shaped like bananas with rounded points. They do intersect at the center, but the ends of them are also embedded within the rings as opposed to free floating in the center or slightly past it.
