The civilian/sport genre is one area lacking serious representation in any modelling medium. I'm sure this will be a welcome addition!

Hello

Now I have this trifle in my hand. :)
First step - cocpit.
Detalized but remember, you can see all this stuff through the canopy glass.
Note excellent instruments on control panel.
First photo with cocpit sides.

Ufortunatelly my printer refused to cooperate - colours are not proper entirely.

Don't think your Yak 55 has gone un-noticed.:)
I have not commented until now, because I have been wanting to see how the model evolved.
I certainly like it, and think it makes a suitable companion to the Sukhoi Aerobatic planes that have been done elsewhere as models.

I've seen Yak 50's and Yak 52's in flight in real life, and the Chinese Chengdu 6 copy.
When I saw your yak 55 here I was truly pleased to see it, and I'm sorry I did not comment earlier.

Kind and Respectful Regards Krzychu74, Uyraell.

Hello

In my opinion such planes like our Yak-55 ( or Jak-55 ;) ) still got lot of fans.
I hope I will see at least one another model of this aerobatic airplane.
And few other too for example this one (http://images3.jetphotos.net/img/1/1/1/6/64602_1158005611.jpg).:)

Meanwhile - wings.
Angle of elevation: zero. Simple work.
Quite interesting effect. :)

I didn't mean to suggest the Yak 55 didn't have fans still, my friend.:)

It is a very well developed aircraft, with a fine reputation.
It is also good to see a model of it being designed and built.:)

I wish you every success with it, and would gladly build it once it became available, even if I had to pay (a reasonable price) for it.

Kind and Respectful Regards my friends, Uyraell.

Uyraell - I think I got meaning of your comment.
I rather tried to respond Krzychu74. ;)

Anyway - I will look for your build thread.
This or another plane. :)

Thank you, Piotter. :)

And yes, though I write "Yak" as most people in NZ do, I have also been known to write "Jak" in the Slavic way. :)
I'm quite comfortable using either spelling.

I do look forward to being able to build once I can afford to. Right now, I'm going through a very tough time with money.

Kind and Respectful Regards Piotter, Uyraell.

Hello

Today only few details.
Canopy made from kit templates. Really like separate parts project.
Apart from - special form (filled with Miliput plastic mass) to make canopy by moulding. In my model I'll apply moulded canopy.
Last foto - propeler and radiator ( i think so :) ).

Next time - undercarriage and maybe final gallery.

PS. This lack of time disturbing me... ;)

Hello!
Thank you piotter. I see soon will be finish. :)
Uyraell: thank you for your kind words but I see that this way of showing new projects (renderings and then the report from test building) people already bored. I see this in this thread (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/krzychu74s-projects/19024-erla-5-1-50-a.html).
Maybe time to think about another form of presentation.

Best regards.

I went back and looked at the referenced thread on the ERLA-5.
It seems to me that you were looking for more information about
it, so I assume no one had any info that you didn't have to help
you, so there were no responses. Does that make sense?

I have some of your planes from eCardmodels, but I'm not good
enough to start that Hellcat yet. It's very well done.

Hello

Yesterday I Finished my aerobatic Yak.

Any building faults or mistakes should be count on my and my impatience.

This model is very rewarding - rare plane, uncommon colours.
And these slippers ! ;)

Thank You all for participation.
See you soon.

It is a beautiful model Piotter. :)
Your Yak 55 is a very good looking aircraft.
You are right about the slippers (also called "spats") on the undercarriage giving the aircraft a different look. To my eyes, neater than wheels uncovered.

I also very much like the colours in this model.

Genial and Respectful Regards my friend, Uyraell.

It looks so simple and so beautiful! The propeller hub is not so good looking, but that's probably the beta tester's problem.

When I give on the forum a new model, I try to present you the history of a real machine. Case is simple when is the information on Wikipedia or some other English-language website. If that webside does not exist, I am giving a link to what I find. In the case of Erla I found only these two parties (the Czech and German). And that I informed you. :)

Soon I will show you a cover.

Best regards.

It looks so simple and so beautiful! The propeller hub is not so good looking, but that's probably the beta tester's problem.

Or maybe on the propeller hub the cuts must be inside the black lines (so the black lines are not visible). On the other hand, macro-photography accentuate defects :)

Could the petals be built not longitudinally, but as a spiral? That way, they would look much more like "built as intended" - like the cones on passenger plane turbojet engines. They would be more difficult to cut.
Would simply skewing (mspaint, resize, skew) the result of "normal" petal unfolding by 45 degrees (skewing only the petals, not the straight part) be good enough?http://hsfeatures.com/images/fw190d9bigtailrf_4.jpg

I just found this thread - so many posts and so little time! Anyway, very nice looking model, K - I think your design is fine. Wheels with spats are always a tricky thing, but yours look just fine.

So, how may "views" on this thread? How does that compare to the number of posts? That may substantiate the interest within the forum... hmm, 28 posts and some 934 views. Getting plenty of traffic...
