I just wanted to thank everyone for being part of our community. It has been five years that we have been online, and I am always amazed at how our community has grown over that time. Hopefully the next five will be as amazing as the first five. Thanks again for being part of our little community.

Sincerely,
Jason

Jason, when a special-interest forum boasts 27,000-plus members, I'm not that sure it can be called a "little" community any more. Like most communities, the greater the freedom allowed to responsible individuals, the greater the number of people wanting to be there. Thanks for being a great moderator.

Thank you Jason ... for letting me in to this facinating world of kindred spirits.

It's like a fix, gotta tune in here every time I turn on the 'puter. Every other post seems to open up another unexplorered link. So I usually find an hour or so gone by before I move on to what I should have been doing.

Here's to the next five years, http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad310/jwment/grouphugg.gif

It's certainly true that there are a lot of members, however I recognize every single name on this thread, and I'm sure the core group here is pretty small, and I'm willing to bet we'd greet each other as close friends in person, given the chance. And yes, our great moderator makes it possible!

Actually we do, when some of us meet for the paper model display at the Army Heritage Education Center, we shake hands, and swap stories, and "rag" on everyone.

Same happens when we gather for the International Paper Model Convention in the Dulles VA area.

Yes, thank you for starting this forum. BTW, what happened to Hobby Factory?

Unfortunately life got in the way. I have spent the last couple years, OK, 4 years, building a house. So in the hope that it would help me finish the house sooner, I had to shut it down, with the hopes of starting it up again once the house it finished. Thanks for asking.

The thanks indeed should go to you, Jason, and all the moderators, who keep this forum alive and available 24/7/365! This has become for me, and I am sure for a number of others, a wonderful home away from home...how many forums are able to honestly claim such a diverse group who are able to get together to share a hobby they all love.

I pray and hope that your efforts, as well as that of the other moderators and fellow forum members, continue to be rewarded by many, many more years of wonderful conversation, spectacular builds and heart warming times...thank you for making all of this possible!

Cheers!
Jim

Welcome! The easy way to start a new thread is: 1- click on the paper modelers logo (upper left), then 2- click on a topic that best suits your new thread on the left, then 3- click on the "new thread" icon on the upper left, and you're on your way.

Great to have you here, but Beware! Paper modeling is highly rewarding and addictive, and the people here will do their best to encourage you and support your efforts!

Jason,
This site is such a wonderful resource. When I try to explain my hobby to others, I direct them to this site. The variety of paper models that show up here is spectacular.

The community that you have built here is respectful of others and that is very much appreciated.

Thanks for the welcome. I have built many card models for model railways over the years , but I did not know that I could download ships, planes as well as buildings off the internet, many of them are free. I hope to build my first ship model shortly.

Thank YOU, Jason,

It has been a great experience and a joyride! Founded by dedicated paper model followers in 2007 and very well kept and moderated ever since. Kudos for all the hard work and time spent on the forum!

It is very pleasing to see the community still growing and thriving, with young members discovering this fantastic medium all the time.

Good and trusted friends, amazing artists and craftsmen (and women!) and a continuous inspiration!

All the best,
Bengt in Stockholm
