I've written a quick tutorial on making scifi textures with metasequoia and photoshop.
It's a bit image heavy so I put it on a free site. There is a zipped model file at the bottom of the page for those without a registered version of metasequoia.

Some free textures for you to play with as well are available on the web if you look.
ProFantasy Community Forum - Free Fill Style Images / Tileable Images For You! (http://forum.profantasy.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3373&page=1#Item_2)
Terminal 26 - Free seamless tiling textures (http://www.terminal26.de/texturen/kategory05_free_textures_metal.html) (need to register to download)

If youv'e never noticed, quite a few use random dungeon generator images in them!!!!!

Nice! Thanks- I can use some of those.

Say, have you actually used the ProFantasy software? I've tried but can't make heads or tails out of it.

Here is, for anyone interested, the texture I used for the metallic background on the F-100 I recently built, and the CF-104 that I am still working on. Maybe someone else can use it too.
