Beautiful. Those huge French contre-torpilleurs were magnificent ships. I'm glad to see one of them is available.

Wa-a-a-y cool! The later variant designed by the same shipyards that made the ORP Wicher and Burza for Poland. I have been wanting to get one of these in styrene but since this will be a much larger scale and far more detailed, it looks like the one to get. Thanks for the heads up on this bad boy.

As much as I want to see you do another IJN warship, Jay, I would really like to see you go to work on one of these!

Hi Don,

As much as I would like to work on this one, I have the Jerzy Lubkowski Vol. 1 he wrote on the Wicher and Burza, got it so I could complete Mirage Models' 1/400 styrene version of the Wicher, I have to complete the Akizuki first. Card Models are proving to be a much more labor intensive and tons of fun effort to produce a model than plastic ever thought about being. Besides, I tried to go to the site and apparently have to live in Poland to be able to purchase this bad boy, hint, hint WAK, point me to a place where I can actually buy one! Plastic (as in credit card) ready, willing, and most able.;) :D

Not to hijack your thread WAK, but here is what I did to the Wicher.

I agree, I get incredible service from Piotr. Plus he has such good prices if you order a lot the postage isn't that bad.

Hi All,

Got my WAK Kersaint and it is a most awesome kit. Some 20 pages of card and paper cover the subject, while not a starter type by any stretch of the imagination it is quite doable.

You can see the ORP Wicher design elements were stretched, additions and updates to various features added to come to this design. I do look forward to working this one out for the collection. For a destroyer it will be quite large at some 26 inches in length just measuring the deck layouts alone. Digging up the history and doing research on this one will keep me busy for a while to come.

I look forward to your building this one, Jay. From your description and the Wak photos, it appears to be the basis for an outstanding model.
