hello.
i'm kind of new here.
i want to start designing models, mainly after star trek starships.
now. i new at this.
is there a program that i need to have on the computer or it's starting with something else?
help will be very much appreciated

Most designers use Hi power programs like Rhino, or Metasquoia.......... but Google sketchup works pretty good. Blender is another one too!

Once you get the design finished you will need and unfolding program............ pepakura is one that is used alot.

You can google any of these and get a lot more info than I can write about them here...................

Nothing wrong with not using a computer at all. Trial and error maybe but you learn real quick about the fundamentals. I also admit I am lazy and havent learnt to use a package but sketchup would be a good (free) software tool to use if that way inclined.
