Welcome.
I would like to present the stories of SP gun stug IV, which is currently being renovated in Poland . It was extracted from the river during second attempt . First once tried to do it in the fifties, but in vain.
At present , reconstruction is coming to the end, but the museum historian under the direction of captain OGRODNICZUK face every step with the new problems .
At this place I would like to appeal to all Friends about help. They need manual to Stug IV/III ,especialy information dates about oil capacity in transmition and gun recoil cylinder) .Well it`s really possible return this stug to 100% efficient (Running condition)
Below I link to their web site (http://www.sturmgeschutziv.pl/) (sorry now only in polish), more info ,You can find on 1-25 Scale Armor Forum in thread stug IV restoration (http://www.1-25saf.com/viewtopic.php?t=759),where I keep all update , in english too .

Exploration report here (http://www.1-25saf.com/viewtopic.php?t=670)
Maybe somebody from Saumur ,Sisheim, Munster or from Parola could ask in museum. There are running stugs and panzer IV and I suspect they have to service vehicles.
Send reagards Piter

Thanks Piter! A nice 1:1 scale model. Too bad it isn't done in card but at least it isn't plastic.:)

Do you mean September 2008?

Yes that's one on the PzIV chassis it looks brand new now.

Ever see the PzIII type they found upside down in a bog?

You could probably put fuel in it and start it up. =)

The StuG IV is in card - Modelik published it a few years ago. Hobby Factory has it in stock - STURMGESCHUTZ IV (SdKfz 163) by Modelik Publishing (http://www.hobbyfactory.com/Military-Vehicles-Tanks/c35_53/p583/STURMGESCHUTZ-IV--%28SdKfz-163%29/product_info.html). I haven't built it but it looks reasonable.

Regards,

Charlie

That's amazing to see such an old vehicle back in working condition. They've done a great job with the restoration.
