As always, extraordinary work, Carl! Quite an amazing job on the textures, outstanding work, my friend!!

Any update on the lines only version for printing on silver paper?

On a side note, I was also wondering whether you still plan on publishing some build hints on the Soyuz model. I'd like to try that build as well, but I'm not sure how a few of the parts fit together even with the superb illustrations...might you consider adding part numbers to the diagram to help idiots like me figure this one out?:D

Keep at it, mate!

Cheers!
Jim

I will have a line only version out next week. I need to finish My test build too, (and get some pictures over to Mike V.). As for the Soyuz, I have not forgot, (I'll get You something soon).

I just sent rev#2 to John to Host/Post.

Carl

And here it is --

Part #14o & 14p, have been reduced in overall length, (So builders don't have to be trim fit as I showed in the build pictures, (Mike please note that in the instructions)). Part #14q & 14f, have the center holes, (and side holes on #14q), enlarged a bit, (Found this problem in the test build).I have also included the line only version for those Who want to print the model on silver paper.

I am going to shoot for a lift-off on Sunday! I will post some more build pictures soon too. I will try to film the mishap, (I mean flight), for all to have a chuckle over.

I'm completely new to card models. When I opened the instruction sheet for the Mercury Atlas model, it cut off after step 36. This seems to be incomplete. The capsule (among other parts) is not addressed up to this point. Are there any remaining instructions? How can I get them?

Thanks,
Lee

Hi Lee,

I'm the guy who was doing Surfduke's instructions. Carl (Surfduke) stopped communicating with the group last fall and never gave me completed instructions. You have all that I have. If you or anyone else finishes up this kit (or any of Carl's other fine designs), send me some photos and I will use those to finish up the instructions.

Hi there.

I am new to this list, but have been building card models of spacecraft for many years.

I have downloaded the "latest" for the 1:48 scale Mercury-Atlas model and have all the parts printed out. BUT the instructions I downloaded only go as far as step #36 -- the remaining instructions just are not there!

Now that I see the other messages in this, it looks like others have run into the same problem. So are there further instructions that others have figured out at this point?

Thanks for your help.

M, As far as I know you can reach Carl by PM, not all communication has been lost, luckily. For most of Carl's kits there's no instruction available. Just ask him.

This is awesome!. I've been kicking myself for years for not getting the Estes Mercury Atlas the last time they released it. Now I don't feel so bad.

Thank your Carl and Mike for making this available!
