Excellent work! Great looking hull - nice lines! The bow looks great too! How did you make the railings? They look fantastic!

Clashster, it is very difficult to explain in English since I made the railings.

In this photography it is possible to be seen the assembly of the chain and the railings.

And in this Link http://miarroba.com/foros/ver.php?foroid=1256933&temaid=5935351 a friend explains like doing them in Spanish. The translator uses online.

Un saludo

It will try to explain here as I make the railings

To watch better the photos than to read my words

In the first place to make a group. In the group we will mark the horizontal ranges and vertical that the railing will have.
the measures will correspond to each model according to their specifications. that long of railings we will construct? I in my marry 15 cm by piece, this measurement I believe that she is correct to work.
Also he is correct to mount supplements to each side to be able to stick the railing soon.

This idea is copied of a friend whose nick is Heinkel111

After this we rolled the thread in a sense ...........

http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/4/a/4a8c573d.jpg

soon in the other sense ..........

http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/d/6/d67289dc.jpg

and in my assembly I use east glue ...........

http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/a/e/aeee2d8f.jpg

CON PINCEL it means WITH BRUSH

to apply with well-taken care of (if it is possible mask and protective goggles)and the dry brush is necessary to pass much so that they are not left small balls.

http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/a/7/a7c00307.jpg

Each person used the material that creates better (in my case the copper) and you do not demotivate to you, single is practices. These railings became to the second attempt.

After pegamnte is dried we cut with small pliers, the fourth thread is used to me as guide for the legs, I apply to painting and this ready one already to use.

I hope that this idea is to you of utility and if it is therefore gratefulness is for Heinkel111.

A greeting from Spain

Do the rails have a tendency to work themselves apart with too much handling?

chapuzas100
08-24-2007, 06:54 AM
Bluenoser, I do not translate the question well, you can repeat it of another form?

Barry

Using online translation
¿Los carriles tienen una tendencia a trabajarse aparte con demasiado la dirección?

I feel, I do not understand it the question, is possible to be made the question another form? can be made a drawing?

If the railings are moved when you work on them, do they break apart ??

¿Si se mueven los pasamanos cuando trabajas en ellos, se rompen aparte??

Now if I can respunder the question.
The railing once stuck is cut and been of a piece, it is painted of the chosen color and it seems of plastic

chapuzas100

The railing when this finished is very resistant

These are the progresses of the model. The details in wire have been great, but it is the best thing than I have been able to do.

Hello everybody, not long ago that work in this model, gives me a lot of punishment on the shelf to see him, I decided to ride across the stern, I left a lot by assembling parts and this is the aspect that it has today.

Nice work chapuzas100. I like the Kingfisher and aft crane. That's very good. I like this even more than the old plastic Revel Missouri on my wall. I'll have to build this one some day.

As a final assessment I would say that the model despite being very old fits very well, the problems I have had to interpret diagrams assembly but I found a forum in German, the assembly of the Misouri of the same period and from the same manufacturer and with These images got finish mine.

Looking at your model again reminded me that a guy I went to college with used to be stationed on the Iowa. He was a clerk for one of the head guys on board. He told me some crazy stories about his time on the ship. He also said he was pretty close to the explosion that took out one of the gun stations. Now that's scary stuff.

Brilliant finish chapuzas100. That's a beautiful ship.

Not bad at all for an older design.
