I like to share with you my design of the Messerschmitt Me 109.

The colours are "Tunisia 1943"

The scale is 1/54 and the test build was by CardStalker.

The model can be found at http://ecardmodels.com/shop/index.php?manufacturers_id=48

Thank you for your comments.

ct ertz, (if I've got the right person), thank you for your review of the Mess bf 108.

I have done several of those BF-108s now. Most of them were shrunk down to index card size, but I also have done some in the scale it came in. Sadly, I have none to show. Our last Cub Scout meeting at the end of this season the boys talked me out of a good share of my models, including these. I guess I will have to make more.

If this ME-109 goes together as neatly as your 108 then I will get one. I have a number of 109s in different lay outs, but I never get tired of them. I like the F-86 sabre too, and have many lay outs of that as well. One would think thad doing similur models of the same plane would get old, not for me. Am I the only one who dose that, makes the same ship or plane over and over in difrent lay outs or colors? I bet not.

I thought I'd do a quick re-colour of my Me 109.

As it is currently in a "Tunisia 1943" look it shouldn't take much to make it into a Hans-Joachim Marseille, "The Star of Africa" version.

Research has left me with two questions.

The victories painted on the tail. Are they on both side or the port side only?
The upper camo' colour could either be a yellow sand or a brown sand. Any idea which he used? From the time scale I'd say he had the yellow sand as this was used in the earlier part of the war.

Thanks for the help

Cheers JTF

I found some nice pics for you, posted on ecardmodels.

My opinion is the "kills" were only painted on the left side of the plane,
the side where the Pilot enters the aircraft
and is always photographed from.

Thanks for that.
