Not sure if this is of interest to many...anyone?...
but if nothing else, its got me playing with design work again.
Hopefully get me back in the mood to work on my Civil Aviation accessories...

anyway...

I am updating my original Airfield Accessory Kits.
More info on the original kits here:

Airfield Accessories I http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/kit-announcements/7806-airfield-accessories-diorama-parts-1-50-scale-kit-contest.html?highlight=airfield+accessories

Airfield Accessories II http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/kit-announcements/12822-airfield-diorama-accessories-kit-ii-airdave.html?highlight=airfield+diorama

Airfield Accessories III Modern http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/kit-announcements/13843-airfield-diorama-accessories-iii-modern-airdave.html?highlight=airfield+diorama

The original kits were done in 1/50 scale.
They can of course, easily be printed at smaller scales.
But upscaling requires bigger format printing or editing the pages.

Someone recently brought up the idea of using the accessories with my 1/33 aircraft models.
All my Mustangs, P47s, Spitfires, etc are 1/33 scale.
And they asked about enlarging the prints.

This got me thinking.

So, I decided to clean up all the kits...update the covers and layouts...
and upscale everything to 1/33.
I think the quality is there in the models to suit the upsize.
A couple of the vehicles are a bit simplified in their design
but the artwork makes them good enough for the larger scale.

And print reductions are still a snap...just output at any reduction percentage.

So thats what I am working on now.
That, and releasing a new batch of Koolwheelz models.

And, as I said, I am hoping to keep the flow going and get back to working on the Civil Aviation Accessories Kit.

Definitely up for this. I also see a need for WWII & modern US Navy carrier equipment and deck crews. Even just the little tug used in late WWII.

Glad to see there is some interest in this.

I have just completed updating all my existing Airfield Accessory Kits.
They are now 1/33 scale...with instructions on printing at smaller scales.

I will be discontinuing my existing 1/50 scale kits and removing them from my store (Paper Model Shop Home (http://www.papermodelshop.com))
and from ecardmodels.com.

I'll publish the new kits very soon and make a formal announcement when that happens.

FYI as well as upscaling all the parts...
I've cleaned up pages layouts and moved a few things around (there are more pages obviously).
I've also added more assembly notes and build diagrams (wherever room allows).

Prices for these kits will not increase.

Awesome! Any thoughts on WWI Airfield?

sorry...I misread your question at first...I have edited this post accordingly.

No. I have not considered a WW1 kit.
Its never been requested before.
And I am unsure what I would include?
Since Aviation was in its infancy, there wasn't really any dedicated "aviation" related vehicles or equipment.

What types of content would you suggest?

Go check the Thumb Dogs Bacquettes (sp) & Bandages posts. He has some airfield stuff near the end.

Also I would bet that WWI airfields were pretty much just tents and stuff laying around.

Agreed.

I have included Tents, Huts, Deck Chairs, Bicycles and other sundry items in my Airfield kits already
so I am not against that sort of thing.
But these are in addition to some actual Aviation specific things.

I can see the local Firetruck parked at an air "field", as well as other everyday vehicles.
But thats not what I wish to design.

I'll leave it open to suggestion.

I’m not really sure what else there would have been; as you say, military aviation was still brand new. Was really just curious as to what a WWI airfield might have consisted of. Wasn’t a particularly firm or even well-thought-out question.

Agree re: tents, bikes, etc that are already in the other kits. Maybe it’s just those items with a WWI era truck thrown (which can be found in other places).

Go find Thumb Dog's Baguettes & Bandages thread. Airfield stuff is near the end. Actually budget about an hour of your time for that thread.
