Here's the first pictures of my build. All seems to be going well considering its the first paper model I have ever built. Hope you enjoy looking. Thanks for looking!! :)

Good luck on that first model! My first attempt at a card model was also a JSC issue, the 1/400 Mikasa. It's not a great model to begin with, and my finished effort looked pretty mediocre, to put it kindly. But the important thing is to get it done and apply what you learn to subsequent builds. It looks like you are off to a good start.

Cheers!

Thankyou. Going to touch up hull with paint when finished to ensure all gaps or white edges are covered as thats what the instructions advise. Really enjoying it so far. Will be good to get the hull finished then i can concentrate on the smaller bits and pieces :)

The most important aspect of ship models is a fair hull and judging from your picture you have an excellent start. Once the hull is right, the rest can always be re-done till you get it right, hulls aren't that forgiving. More than a great start!

I'm kinda eager to see this built. There was a similar ship in the harbour earlier this year but was from Dockwise and I managed to get a bunch of photos of it.

Wishing you the best on your first build. I see in the backround of that first image, a JSC North Carolina. Perhaps your next project if this goes well?

If you are building this with a full hull (which it looks like you are doing), you should get the dry dock kit to stick it in for display. At least that's my plan.

Looks good so far, keep up the good work.

lol! No the model came in between the north carolina card packaging to stiffen it during transit.

Thanks for the comments guys. Will update again asap. Cheers :)
