This is the Micromodels King George V in approx 1/2000 scale.

Above, you can see how I make a mistake... there are holes in the deck where the sides fold up. Now it has large parts you can see that say " F Stick on C " for example, and that is intend to go over the holes on the back part of the ship where it say "F" and has "C" and a arrow. Well I make up the structure that say "Stick on F" So I fix it to the "F" on the boat. I did not realize it means to stick on top of the part "F". Since there is no real instructions... So now i have to cut from below to fit these pieces inside and out over the holes. But then they do not fully fill the holes any way... So I cut four piece of plain card and insert...

Maybe I work too fast for this model but I have a spare I can make again. I was disappointed to find the mistake I had make.... I have painted some edges and the card pieces now to match.

Lala, you have a real skill with these tiny models, i would have trouble seeing them, let alone building them.
Best wishes

This is not for the contest. It is just one card from a set and the contest is for the whole set itself. But I make this one any way.

For the contest I need to work on the Beam Engine

This is fun to see. Beam engine? Just not happening?

The King looks great Oksana, really clean build - but, like Carl I'm waiting to see the beam engine.

I need to print out a nice copy of the Beam Engine. But first I need to buy more card (am out) and my printer it is jammed (i think some thing is dropped down inside). So I can make things I have handy only right now.

OK, I have to know KGL. Just how small are your finger tips and how keen are your eyes? You do awesome work with these tiny models.

LOL I think I have good finger skill. My hands they are not small but I have strong finger from work. And I have done things like to sew, etc. for many year now. My eyes it is difficult some. In my left eye I am blind to see. But in my right eye my vision it is good. I do wear the glasses some to help to clarify things. It is hard to explain but some time I can work by touch and intuition. My main issue (and it bother me greatly for tennis) is not to have the sense of depth and some thing moving fast toward me it is confusing.

Part of what I enjoy with any art or craft is to just hold the thing in my hands and to feel it and the materials, texture, and edge. Very tactile and intersting.

But that does not help as when I forget to fix some part!

Where are what available? If you mean the model, it is the 1940s Micromodels British Ships set with the Ark Royal, Sealion, MTB, Cossack, and Victory.

Thanks. I looked at the threads for some of your other MicroModel ship builds (couldn't find ARK ROYAL, but found COSSACK and the MTB). Your skills are impressive with these tiny gems!

I finish the Ark Royal last week so it must be close to the top?

I have added the top of the front structure tower and the two smoke stacks. There is a print blemish on the second stack. When I had forgot to install the parts inside, and had to cut away much of the boat deck inside, it has made the deck buckle and bow. So the middle of the ship it is arched.

I have to decide to finish this one or to start over with a better model with what I have learn. The model it is not hard and to start over is not so much an effort for me.

I realize also now my printer it is broke. I do not think they make the printer now either. It is a Canon MP150 and some thing it has gone down into the wheels that feed the paper so paper will not feed and it says it is jammed. I take it and hold it upside down and try to shake the debris free but that does not work.

Okay, as I decide, I have make some work on the second King George V.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/KGV2.jpg

You can see the large parts I remember this time to fix in place! And to keep the model from bending, it has a large piece of wood inside.

I have made up much of the structure again on the second model. This looks much more nice.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/KGV-1.jpg

With the model built more correctly the boxes on the side of the deck they are now solid and have no gaps with the structure of the ship. There is a print mistake on the two parts that I fix to the deck to form those boxes where part that is visible is not in color ink as if it were a glue tab. I have found on some of the other Micromodels they make a tab in color like the part or a section of the part in white like a tab because of careless inking.

I'm amazed at how cleanly you build these given how small they are (as plenty of other people have also said). Looking forward to seeing this one completed.

interesting with these micromodels
and the we have Marco's giant "SD14 Cargo ship 1:70 - Marcle Models" at the other end of the spectrum
with my eyes i will have to go with the bigger one :P

There is a hollow side to the tower which I fix with card and paint...

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/KGV2-1.jpg

This is the inside of a hard to form part. This will go over the arms on the back of the tower where I have add the card to fill the hole. It is a platform. I paint the inside with grey mix with aqua color paints. This small part it has five bends to make, two slots and a hole to cut.

I get eyestrain and a tension headache just looking at these parts on a penny.

There is small guns on the King George V that are just flat. But I paint them on the reverse to match the inking to some degree. I feel it is easier than before I cut them out, and it will make the paper more stiff.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/guns.jpg

For the gun barrel and mast parts, I take a wood stick from the grocery store and pare it down to a thin dowel. The wood is smooth and hard (it is bamboo grass) and I can color it with Marvy pen or Sharpie pen to suit.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/wood.jpg

You can see now the large and small gun tower parts. I had ruin this in my first model. I find it is more easy to cut the bottom of the tower free and glue it back in place. The parts do not seem very symmetrical either. Nor do they resemble the actual ship towers. I make 10 cannon gun barrels for three turrets in total.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/battery.jpg

This is the tiny platform behind the second chimney. The instructions they say to make the center post only 3/16" tall which is much to small!?! I make it to match the one picture illustration they provide.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/searchlight.jpg

For some reason when they draw the design for the chimney parts they design the seam to run down the MIDDLE of one side instead of to be along a corner. Strange...

The model it have no base (again) but this time I take the base from the HMS Vanguard and the King George V it fits nearly perfect.

Ok it is finish now! I enjoy this model and the whole set very much. I have only to make the Victory still. The King George V it would benefit if it had a base, but the base from the HMS Vanguard it work perfectly. These are cute small model ships.

I spray the ship with Prismacolor Matte varnish and the base it is wiped by hand with Aleene's Paper Glaze.

http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv339/Oksana_K/Mid.jpg

For the ship bow I make some extra parts for the 3D effect instead of having the detail just printed flat. Compare to the earlier post picture of the bow.
