Contest rules are very simple.

1.Build ANY Maly Modelarz armor related kit. Painting, additional parts and modifications are all acceptable.
2.Kit needs to be started not before August 1, 2009 and build thread posted before contest end. Please add MM Armor Contest – (model name) to help sort out entries.
3.Contest ends May 31, 2010 23:59:59 PST.

That’s it. Simple rules, no restrictions, plenty of time to build some great kits. Contestants may enter multiple times.

Anyone interested in donating armor related prizes please PM me.

Good Luck!

That just might be the push I needed to build the Chi-He

I'll put my hand up for the Type 1 Chi-He - I was thinking about building it anyway so the competition might give me some motivation to get moving on it.

There was a creditable build of the Chi-He at Z****** but I think it could be improved. Certainly the camouflage colours aren't quite right - the red/brown colour should be brown rather than the dark red colour of the model. Although the Type 1 was mostly welded there were some rivetted joints which could be modeled.

Charlie

I'm doing the R-17.

Need to do some research on this one before I start, though. Never really built a tank before!

I've created the Armor forum for the builds here Armor - PaperModelers.com (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/armor/)

Is anyone going to build the MM Cromwell?

I haven't seen a build of this - it looks like it would go together pretty well.

Charlie

It seems like I missed a lot of new goings on around here. Last week my family and I went to Williamsburg, VA for a much needed vacation. Among other things, we toured the restored Colonial Capital, had a blast at Busch Gardens and Water Country USA and enjoyed two days in the sun at Virginia Beach. Even with all of this I still found some time in the evenings to get a little modeling done. I took along a few of my tools and a copy of a little Fokker DR1 tri-plane that I've had my eye on for a while. Also, while we were away, I picked up some cool reproduction tin advertising lithographs to hang on the wall by my desk. I particularly like the WARNING sign.

Now, as far as this new contest goes...What can I say....but sure, I'm in.
The only trouble is that I only have three MM kits to choose from. The Chi-He that Charlie is building, and the 4TP and 7TP that Douglas already built for the last contest. Right now I'm leaning toward the 4TP if that's ok with everyone here. Once I decide for sure I'll start an official build thread, but right now I want to finish up another little project that I just started. (see my thread in the Armor section)

I would really like to see you build the 4TP. With your skill it should be a great thread to follow.

I'm ready to follow Ron's footsteps and step away from the planes for a moment...
Not sure if I can build the tank in three months - this would be my first attempt ever - but I'm in it for the fun, so be it :D

Again, I have no problem extending this one, either. I should be able to get my FT done in three months, but maybe I'll try something else as well?

I have the T-54 - I am modding it into an IDF Achzarit IFV.

Very good, i have my T-34 Rudy almost 85% finished. I just hate the tracks though.

Unless anyone has objections, I am going to extend this contest. I am way to busy to finish in time so I am willing to do what the forum wants. Qudos to Chris to finishing in time.

Hopefully the extension will inspire a few new attempts as well. While the tracks and wheels were laborious, I was overall surprised at how doable a model tank can be... granted this is a relatively simple one.
Let's see some more tank builds!
