Salut à tous!

I tried once to post what is following, but had no result , so I try again.

I did this model after I achieved my trawler. It is a free download from a german modelist (...uhh, I think he is german...).

The original sheets:

The hull and the deck seen from inner view:

The deck with the 3D effect of the second sheet of card to give more volume and thickness, and the hull:

What it gives before glueing:

The gun and oil barrels:

An "unglued building":

After that, I painted the different parts and glued them, before adding more details.

In the past, I made once a PBR from cardboard, but I had no plans and had a wrong scale : look at the difference !!

The colour could seem to be wrong : in fact I made my own blend of tints and tried to approach the "olive drab" which seems to be the colour of main pictures I've seen.
But some show PBR as brown boats, some as dark green ones, and I had no colour scheme explained. I thus decided to keep the one you see: a dark green with a spot of Sienna brown and ochre yellow in it.

I completed the ship with small details "re-built" from card or plastic, and thickened some pieces:

As the complete post gives more than 20 pictures, I shall do other posts.

The next will show the finished model with figurines and an "ephemeral diorama"...

To be continued....

Bye,

Salut, encore moi!

As I wrote, it needs a second post to show the complete building.

The figurines are these you saw on my first old PBR : plastic ones, from different origins and representing the crew of Francis Ford Coppola' movie "Apocalypse now"...

I added the dragoon's jaw and eye after seeing a picture of a PBR showing this design.

Here, the anchor and its rope:

The guard rail is made of plastic, and the flag is from stain sheet, and hand-made painted:

The hull-guards are tyres from a two-paste mastic:

They look very convincing - I'm sure they're great for your gametable.

Very good build :)

That's an excellent job on the PBR. It's a great subject. That's a great looking diorama, looks right out of the jungle!

Here's a 1/35 that I did of here in a plastic kit. There's lots going on in these small boats!

Thank you!

As I wrote, and as we can see on the picture you gave the link, there is a lot of variety of colour schemes, even if there is an official one.
But maybe it comes from the quality of the pictures themselves...

Paint schemes on the PBR's varied somewhat. I've seen some photos that showed black hulls below the water line. Although the olive drab green (and various shades due to sun-fading) seem to be the most common colors.

Thanks for your kind words Thanh Thuy.
