Nobi will be designing this plane for me. :)

I do however need to figure out what version to have designed. Please state your favorite here. If you have multiple favorites please list them. Keep in mind references will be needed for the build so dont pick something too obscure ;) if you have specific liveries in mind please include a pic or two :D
Thanks!
Chris

TU95mc, if not for the fact that is the version that there is talk of been put back into production.
MAKS 2007 followed Putin's announcement earlier in August that Russia was restarting long-range flights of its strategic bombers. On 17 August, Putin declared that he had decided to resume regular flights of the Russian Tu-160 and Tu-95MC bombers over Atlantic and Pacific waters.
Also at the show, the Tupolev plant announced plans to modernize all Russian strategic bombers: Tu-160, Tu-95MC and Tu-22. Simultaneously, Russian officials indicated plans to renew production of Tu-160 and Tu-95MC.

This is great news. All our begging finally pays off! :) Personally, I'd prefer the Bear D, Tu-95RTs, but I'll buy any one Nobi designs.

I'm with Barx2; pick something ubiquitous like the D Model which graced our skies for decades. Also, make sure Nobi does a version that has only light gray panel lines so we can print it on metallic paper.

If he designs it, we will come!
Livery notwithstanding!
IOW, I'll buy it no matter what livery it is

To NOBI and Chris:

I've made some shoots of my Trumpeter's kit. 2 liveries, Russian and Ukrainian. It's HUGE!! And the scale is only 1/72...

I can provide the instruction with the color schemes and the decals (can be in 600dpi). Just let me know.

Not to start a debate or anything, but i hope you guys in the USA are dragging the 52's out of the GRAVEYARD and serviced them ready to do the same. Hope you get all you need for this TU95 design, she's a nice aircraft - but way less pretty than a B-52 or 36 - but i am just bias there ;)

What scale are you looking at,Chris: 1/72 or coffee table...?

cgutzmer
08-25-2009, 04:13 AM
knowing nobi it will be 1:48ish - I did not specify a scale requirement though knowing how large of a subject it was ;)
Chris

rutzes
08-25-2009, 05:34 AM
1/48 is okay - may be scaled down to 1/72 easily and can be scaled up to 1/33 if printing A3 sheets ;-)

Is there the possibility of an Aeroflot TU-114 version in the future?

doctormax
08-25-2009, 07:25 AM
I done a google of the Tu114 by Maly Modelarz and it came up with some sites that seem to mention it been scale 1:80. First time I ever seen mention of the scale of the plane I seen covers of it and sure could not make out if there was any mention of scale on them so 1:48 would be really good size for it.

Foxbat

...and can be scaled up to 1/33 if printing A3 sheets ;-)
It will be size ~2 by 2 meters! (not exactly, but will be big)

I would have to say by initial glimpses of the airframe that a 1/33 version would be very flimsy unless you really consider heavy reinforcement.

Do the Tu-142. You have gray paint exterior, rather than bare aluminum, and a choice of nose configurations.

I would be happy to have a twin-engined version - be interesting to see how long it sat on the table at a show before anyone clicked...
