This week is a very nice build of the Canon Cathedral of Notre Dame by cdavenport. The regular shots of the model in this thread (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/architectural-models/3866-cathedral-notre-dame.html) were deserving - but when I saw the lit shot I knew it was the one. Great job bringing this building to life ;)

It's a beautiful photo but I thought POTW was supposed to be of a model, not the real thing. Absolutely stunning, Major!

To give Ron's post a bit more weight, after I posted I showed the picture to my wife and she asked 'where's that at?'. When I said it's a model she laughed - she thought it was a picture of a real building ;)

Totally gorgeous. That is the sort of photograph that represents the pinnacle of what our craft is capable. As I recall, the model is not very large either.

The craftsmanship is impeccable and the imagination involved in the idea of lighting the model (stained glass windows and all) is truly impressive.

Congratulations, cdavenport on a truly super job.

Beautiful! A striking example of how context can bring a model to life. The addition of lighting takes it over the top.

Tour de force card modeling! :)

WOW! Let me pick my jaw up off of the floor and say that's one beautiful model. I love the way it's illuminated. Great choice for POTW.

20 years of (passing gas to those who are) blowing up buildings - now he's creating them! Superbly done, outstandingly dressed, and beautifully photographed.

Sincere thanks to Dansls1 for choosing my project as POTW. Also, humble thanks to a great group of artists and builders for their unselfish words of praise.

I'd be lying if I tried to convince you that I am not thrilled! This is better than a club meeting.

This so deserved being the POTW... I have not yet seen any other architecture model to be displayed in such amazing way. (No offence, my knowledge is scarce...)

Coming from a creative designer such as yourself, Lex, I'll bask in the compliment.

Looking forward to your Ise class battle-carrier!

Absolutely amazing! I had to look several times - I thought that maybe this was a drumroll for real pictures of the model! Then I realized this IS the model! The picture itself is a work of art too.

VERY nice!

I saw live Cathedral of Notre Dame. Wonderful!
Your work is perfect.
Also you made a nocturnal atmosphere, very evocative, of the famous cathedral.
Congratulations.

Hard work for 2 plastic models.

Not at all...labor of love. I just stumbled across the other competition and took advantage since I just completed this.
