Hello again

This one is already some three years old but still by any means my best
in armour dept.
The original model was in 1/25 but I scaled it down to 1/35. You need less
details this way and it goes along with plastic figures.
The engine is scratch built, commander is a salvaged Tamiya figure.
I wanted the diorama to show city fight, it is not with accordance to
original pictures. So, they drove into a street without infantry support.
They got one of their tracks shoot out and fight till the ammo for gun
lasted.
Opposing team infantry managed to open engine cover and tossed in
grenades, then as crew tried to bail out the commander was gunned down
and few more grenades go inside.

And even more.
As can be seen everything is lowtech, everything for this diorama is made
from spare cardboard.

As most boring the wheels were first to go, once You're trough with
them all the rest is pure pleasure.
The tracks are completely new, each link consist of 5 parts.
Multiply it by some 80 which make the complete track and...
Yes something to do when You're bored to death...

Finish on the horizon...
Camouflage is pretty close to the original.
Painted without templates so it looks this way...

Very nice. I like seeing dioramas and it looks like yours is turning out well. Are you planning to add more figures in addition to the late commander?

You have an interesting painting style that makes it look heavily weathered. I'm assuming you are doing a lot of heavy dry-brushing, correct?

I like the concept. Very cool build.... It is interesting to see something built to be broken! I always seem to build factory fresh! Great job!

Hello

Thanks for kind words.
Well, the truth is I just didn't post all the photos.
It is complete with only one "person".
As it comes to weathering, in this scale it is my third model - two in plastic (forgive me...) and the Stug.
Still don't know if correct but my declared tank-fanatic-friend told me
he would sell his teeth to make something like that in the line of
weathering (His models are "factory fresh").
For the immitations of mud I use Humbrol no. 29 (if I'm not mistaken).
No fancy tools for me, just a paint brush worth a penny - suitable more for kids than a serious modeler, if You ever gonna see it You'll be rolling
on floor laughing.
But yes dip it in the can, leave most of the paint on the verge of can or
on paper an of to dirtying.
It is not that difficult, there's tons of war time pics on the internet
and You can practice on a cheap model.

The last pictures.
The "tarpaulin" is made from paper tissue, after painting but just before it is dry I wraped it around the spare wheel.
Black stains on the walls and street, are made by smearing charcoal on them an then secured with hair spray.

Hair spray for sealing charcoal, that takes me back to my life drawing classes as a real poor college student. Hard to beat those penny brushes for drybrushing also. Good use of material there. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hello
Right on the money.
It was the first time in modelling that I use charcoal, but true I too use
the hair spray to secure my drawings.
