Gang,

I've finally made some progress on Yogi's 1/48 LCROSS-Centaur. I've added lots of detail so far with tape and plastic rod. The engine is a J-2 from a 1/144 Saturn, which matches the real Centaur engine pretty well in size and shape. The top and bottom cones are foil-covered; lots of detail still to be added on those. I painted over the rocket body and applied some homemade decals.

Now that is beautiful Les - I'm happy to have provided you a canvas, but the artwork (and it is art) is all you!

Looking forward to seeing the additional detail and then the shepherding satellite.

Yogi

Gang,

A couple more WIP pix of the business end of the LCROSS-Centaur. Not as "busy" as it could be, but I'm more or less satisfied with the level of detail. Still have a bit of touch-up to do, then it's on to the forward frustum and the LCROSS "shepherding" satellite itself!
