Given the aviation experts we have on this forum I doubt this will last long but I found this interesting plane while on RCgroups.

Who can tell me what it is?

It will be a very simple model. I'm debating wether or not to do any landing gear. No cockpit.

I think this is the fastest I have ever got a model to this stage. As you can see the alpha build is well under way, and very few problems have been encountered so far.

Can anyone find a good pic of the vertical tail? I know there is some lettering there but can't find anything that shows it well enough to read and I think some of it will be legible at this scale (1:32).

Thanks Rutzes. Your post was a great help and possibly a death sentence for this project. As a general rule I only do models that haven't been done before and since this one has I'm now wondering if I should complete it? Any comments?

I say go ahead and complete it Will. Me personally, I would rather do models from digital files instead of printed booklet models. The reason, I could never bring myself to cut up a printed booklet model. That's my 2 cents for what its worth.

As far as design work goes the fuselage and all framework is done, that leaves the empenage, wings, landing gear, and engine pods. Not really a whole lot. My plan was to sell it for $3. One of the reasons for this project was to see if I was capable of going from nothing to finished on a simple project in one week, but still the idea that it's already been done in paper is a big turn off for me.

So the question now become how many want it? If there is enough interest I'll finish it.

One thing I'm kinda proud of is that there are no obviously out of place seams visible on this model, even on the nose cone.

I would much rather have one designed by you so count me in. Like Robert, I prefer digital kits as well. I like the piece of mind that I can reprint any part that I screw up on the first three or four attempts.

Well I guess since I've come this far I might as well finish it up.

First of all: It was never my intention to make you stop this project - and the presented progress is highly promising!

From my point of view the WHV model has some cons, mainly the usually poor detailing, the original scale of 1/50, which need forther work to sclae it up to 1/33 and may be also that these models are not available all around the world as downloadable models are. Your model should improve in all these points therefore I'll get one, too :)

Consider this my pre-release order!

Not much of a Christmas present but I am releasing this model free to all who want it. Only catch is it's unfinished. If there is somewhere to post all the files including the Rhino ones (download section maybe?) I'll do it. The model is not up to my usual standards as I haven't had a chance to get it that far, but the available parts do fit okay.

I know I'm never going to get back to it, so hopefully someone interested in the project could make it into a good model.
