This is a new model I am designing, It will be for sale This summer.
It will be come in three sizes and at least 3 paint versions.

The small size will be 9" long and a regular paper model
the next size up will be 18 inches long and designed as a model rocket -boost glider.
the next size will be 36" long and designed to fly as an rc glider.

The model will consist of a DVD that will contain pdf's of the parts.
- for the larger models you will need to take the pdf of the templates to a blueprint printer and have them printed out. (or you will be able to order them.) The templates will need to be laminated to thick card for strength- in the large model to foam core.
- pdfs of the skins which will need to be color printed.
- video assembly instructions & written assembly instructions.

Vacu-formed noses and canopies will also be available.

And the different types of models will be available individually.

I will post the various stages of design and test-builds
Here are some photos of the third test of templates and of what the final "skins" will look like...

Eeeeeeexcellent! I take it by the pictures you're doing the X-38 as well? I can't wait for that one. The museum I work at has one of two prototypes that were built.

Same shape -different paint job... - so yes.

They do have slightly different shapes to them, but they are very similar. I have some good walk around shots of the one here in town if you'd like them.

I don't think an rc glider version will be very practical, lifting bodies have a very steep glide slope.

Very nice! I like the idea of rocket and RC versions.

Depends on the density of the model. and the projected flight plan and the altitude it is launched from...
never said, RC soarer... Said RC glider...
but that is also why the RC model will be 36" long..

Well -I will get around to it, Its really an easy mod, but before I did that one I would rather do the HL-10. but basically dont hold your breath waiting.
