POTW for March 21, 2010

Ok - so Carl (Golden Bear) says he's pretty much done with his new design / build - the R.F. Iéna, 1898 in 1:250 scale. Carl is one of the true masters in designing and building, and this is another stunning ship.

Honestly I believe that the pictures you post of 'in process; fiddly bits are more interesting than the overall model shots - but overall the effect of the ship is more stunning on the front page ;)

There is a level of paper model building that transcends reality. That is when a paper model is so well designed and so well built that it is indistinguishable from the real thing. Carl, you've been a true inspiration for me since I got back into the hobby and you just keep getting better.
