There's an Ontos on display on the 29 Palms Marine Corps base. Neat machine.

Paul,

and they have one in the National Museum of the Marine Corps

I always liked that little thing

I have driven past that Ontos at 29 Stumps a couple of times

Well, I'm quite excited that you're going to work on the ONTOS! The little tracked portion is so small, it could carry the driver and a couple if nothing else. There was a little bit of interior shown on one of the Youtube homemade movies. I love GPM's 1:25 scale TKS tankette (yet never sprung for it) for the subject and its level of detail. The Maly (Maty) version is modeled in 1:12.5 no doubt making it easier on us fat fingered modelers.

Thanks for listening. I guess my build list is about to get bumped again! A build list that contains several of your guns and submarines.

Looking forward to adding this to my Trent Henry Collection! If you're looking for another unusual cold-war armor project after the Ontos, an M-42 Duster would be nice!

Cool !!! I'm mainly an airplane guy but this one looks very interesting.

I was looking for an Ontos paper model after having see the one at the Forgotten Warriors museum next to the Cape May airport in NJ, and found this thread. Does anyone know if Nothing is still around? His last post was in November last year. Hope everything is ok.

I am not an armor person, but those M50A1 Ontos do look interesting. I saw a film about Hue during the Tet Offensive and it had one brief scene with one of those.
Here is a site with some information about them:

I made a plastic model of one. Tamiya I think. Great little model back then.

What scale will it be?

Not sure what the scale was going to be or if this is still in development. The original thread is from 2010, it was resurrected 1 year ago, then I added that information today.:)

If you don't mind the tiny 1:100 scale, there was a link to an Ontos posted on the Minimodel.cz forum. Unfortunately the link expired in March 2017 so you now have to pay to get access to the storage site.

From what I've seen the Czech designers do a good enough job that you can scale it up to maybe 1:50 without it looking like crap. If you really want to give it a try I'll have a look through my files.

Courtesy of Michal Rozinek, and 1:100 forum, I have been given permission to share his M50A1 Ontos with the forum

Yes, it is 1:100, but as mentioned, should scale up well enough

Enjoy
