Hmm, foldlines, so it isn't Shunichi's. Is it from that spanish site, perhaps? The big full option model?

VF4 looking mighty fine to me :) I recognise the old pilot too :D

Ok worked up a canopy, since i dont have a vacu-forming setup yet I make my canopies using some old photocopier transparency I have and cutting it to the paper canopy pattern, with care this can provide a pretty good result.

Excellent Wulf if you wouldnt mind giving me a length measurement on the 25 when you finish so i can scale to my models when i build it I would really appreciate it, cant wait to see the finished product. As for the VF-4 I have the fuselage mostly done just need to do the 2 little fairings on the lower sides.

I built Sascha's VF-25 a while ago. She's 30cm long with a wingspan of 22.5cm. :)

Great work on the cockpit and the little Rick, it's hard to believe it's made of paper. Do you use markers?

Sidewinder81777
09-01-2010, 04:08 PM
if you mean for edge coloring then either markers or color pencils

unfortunately i think that nice little cockpit might get covered up with a paper canopy until i get a vacu-forming rig set up some time in the future. the first canopy which was a perfect fit was badly c/a fogged the next day and another attempt didnt even fit. the bad thing about making canopies the way i do right now is they want to flatten out so i pretty much have to use c/a to stick them down fast and strong enough but it fogs them, once I am vacu-forming canopies since they hold their shape i can just set it in place and glue it down with anything, not to mention no ugly slits up the side of the canopy

Hey SW,

Did you see how I make canopies in my VF-1D Trainer tut?

Covering up the cockpit and pilot would be a sin!!!

11th commandment states, Thou shalt not cover up cockpits with paper canopies.

Ok heres some more pics. ya know I do think this model is pretty decent but the angularity kinda irks me,the VF-4 is one of my favorite veritechs and i would love to see it taken on by somebody with a more curvalicious design style

Josh thats looks awesome.

With ref to the fold line prob, do what I do ( obviously yours would be better) and dont use the marked fold lines (except where its necessary), you get the curves but then you end up with dotted lines all over the place.
