Kit bash FT-17 1/72

A couple weeks back I built the freebee FT-17 from Wayne McCullough's site and was very happy with the results. So I ordered the hi res version from Hobby Factory and did a re-build and a kit bash at the same time. What I did was give the track area more of a 3D effect by laminating parts as is done with Roman Vasilyev's models.

The hi res graphics was well worth the few bucks and I feel better about supporting a designer that is so gracious as to give some of his great models away free. It might be something some of us should consider doing. Build the free low res for practice then buy the hi res and build a museum piece. I hate to think that a guy like Wayne may just drop out of site because it's not worth it.:(

The FT-17 on the left is the low res as can be seen and the hi res is on the right.
Very nice kit and I will be building and buying more of his models. John

I should have taken individual photo's closer of each one. Maybe then it would be obvious. The picture isn't really that clear, sorry. John

The difference is very apparent and even more so in person. I have a couple of his kits that I haven't built yet, but compared next to the low-res, the hi res quality is tops. Nice pair of FT's!
