COOL! The Diorama is also cool, you can always build them up. I have Perry's model printed out but suffer the same issues as you do. It's universal, I think.

Great job... especially for your first model, and a diorama to boot, most impressive.

Very nicely done!

Nice build! Great looking diorama you've constructed.

Yes, learning the right pressures and techniques for building is half the fun of creating paper models. You've done a very outstanding job!

Looking forward to your next project...

Best regards,
Mike Bauer

Tip for you

Rustek has some good information on advanced folding in this thread:
Treating the edges

I've used his technique of cutting a 'groove' on the back of the fold and it works great. The trick is to selectively weaken the paper along the fold-line so when you go to fold, it follows the weakened line exactly. Glue applied to the back of the fold can help it regain strength in its new 'form'.

I like your car, BTW!

Well done! If that's your standard for a "first build" I can see why it took so long to get going. Remember, it's not a race - it's a hobby. If you find it relaxing to just cut up little paper bits but can't stand glue, who are we to deny you ...

Yogi (by and by we get something done - still working on the obsessive behavior ...)

you did real good!
way better than i ever did. sometimes i just rub a graphite pencil onto the white paper exposed edges that show, it tones them down. or you could print the model on cardstock that is that color also, then there would be no glaring cut exposure, just the same color on the edge.
keep posting your builds!

Great First Model and a nice Diorama !!! From my personal opinion I think you should follow what other guys said about folding and scoring.
