T1E1 U.S. Light Tank 1927
Just finished Alberto's (perry) improved Cunningham LT tank design in 1:48. Like the rest of his models it went together very well and was a pleasure to build.

Nicely done, B-Manic. I'd never heard of vehicles like this, being brought up on a diet of plastic tanks with names including 'panzer' & 'Sherman'. I feel it is a bit of a 'wasteland' as far as depth goes. Lots of variants of WWII armor (granted, the heyday of armor development) but there is still a whole range of fascinating vehicles from before and after the Big One, Part II. Would be nice to have a series of 1:48 scale modern MBT's to show how much alike armor has become... sorry, slightly OT.

A very nice build.
In a lot of ways, the T1E1 is the American interpretation of what the UK Whippet tank should have been in the first place. The Whippet as produced differed vastly from the Whippet as designed, mainly in the lack of a rotating turret on the Whippet as produced. The T1E1 has much in common with the design of the Whippet, and indeed with the German LK I and LK II. Congratulations on a very nicely presented model, B-Manic. Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell. |

Very fine, Douglas. Cutting out the area between the spokes of the sprocket and idler wheels makes a big difference.
I have one of these half completed and hope to finish it up this summer. Are you going to try Michal's GPM 1/25 version? Don |
